中国文化源远流长，中华文明博大精深。中国传统节日作为中华民族优秀文化的重要载体，有着丰富的民俗文化内涵。为了在英语学习中更好地渗透中国传统文化，让学生接受传统文化的熏陶，用英语讲好中国故事，传播中国传统节日习俗，于2024年3月27日，海枫初中七年级7班如期举办了以“中国传统文化”为主题的英语日活动。

In order to implement the fundamental task of "cultivating morality and educating people" put forward by the new English standard for compulsory education, to better penetrate traditional Chinese culture in English learning, to let students accept the cultivation of traditional culture, and to tell a good Chinese story in English, dissemination of traditional Chinese festivals and customs, on 27th March 2024, the Grade7 Class7 of Maple Leaf International Middle School held an English day activity with the theme of "Traditional Chinese Culture" as scheduled.

本次英语日以宣扬中国传统节日为主要内容，用孩子们的视角分享对中国传统节日文化的理解。通过台前演讲，台前朗诵，精美PPT以及视频配音等多种声情并茂的方式向其他同学们呈现和分享了许多经典的中国优秀传统节日，让同学们在领略英语语言之美的同时，感受中国传统文化引人入胜的魅力。

This English Day is in the theme of traditional Chinese festivals, to share the understanding of traditional Chinese festival culture from the children's point of view. Many classic Chinese traditional festivals were presented and shared with the other students through a variety of sound and emotion ways, such as on-stage speeches, on-stage recitations, beautiful PPTs and video dubbing, which allowed the students to appreciate the beauty of the English language and at the same time to feel the fascinating charm of Chinese traditional culture.

同学们分别分享了《春节》、《元宵节》、《清明节》、《端午节》、《七夕节》、《中秋节》和《重阳节》等体现中国传统文化的代表性节日的历史由来以及中国人独有的庆祝方式，其中穿插一些难忘的经历和过节趣事，台下个别产生共鸣的孩子们也跃跃欲试，纷纷举手示意老师们其迫切分享的心情，将本次英语日的氛围烘托的非常热烈。

Students shared the historical origins of representative festivals reflecting traditional Chinese culture such as the Spring Festival, Lantern Festival, Tomb Sweeping Day, Dragon Boat Festival, Tanabata Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Chongyang Festival, as well as the unique way of celebration of the Chinese people, which were interspersed with some unforgettable experiences and interesting stories of the festivals, and the children who individually resonated with each other under the stage were eager to try and raise their hands to show the teachers that they were in an urgent need to share their feelings. The atmosphere in the classroom was enthusiastic and the English Day culminated in a great success.

Not only the pictures and videos are displayed, but the children also carefully prepared their English explanations. Their fluent pronunciation and confident demeanour fully demonstrated the good habits and correct attitude of Maple Leaf students in learning English. As we all know that English is a bridge to the world, we hope that students can use English to promote traditional Chinese culture, tell a good Chinese story and cultivate patriotic feelings while learning English well! We will also be able to be learners, disseminators, innovators and practitioners of Chinese culture, refine the essence of Chinese culture in the times, continue the historical lineage, write contemporary chapters, so that our excellent traditional Chinese culture take on a more novel vitality and vigour in the new era!
